سیلیکات سدیم و سیلیکات پتاسیم

سیلیکات های سدیم از ذوب شن سیلیس (SiO2) و خاکستر سودا (Na2CO3) در یک کوره، معمولاً در دماهای بین 1100 تا 1300 درجه سانتیگراد تولید می شوند. سپس مایع مذاب حاصل سرد شده و به صورت توده های سیلیکات سدیم جامد تقسیم می شود. ترکیب این توده ها را می توان با تنظیم نسبت خاکستر سودا و سیلیس در مخلوط، برای تولید نسبت ها و سطوح قلیایی متفاوت تغییر داد. سیلیکات سدیم به دو صورت جامد (محلول) و مایع (محلول محلول) در بازار موجود می کند.

سیلیکات پتاسیم با استفاده از فرایندی مشابه با سیلیکات سدیم تولید می شود . برای تولید آن ماسه سیلیس (SiO2) و کربنات پتاسیم (K2CO3) در دمای (۱۱۰۰-1300 ) درجه سانتیگراد با یکدیگر ترکیب می شوند. ماده مذاب حاصل از ترکیب این دو ماده خنک می شود به صورت شیشه در می آید که می تواند با بخار فشار بالا و طی فرآیند خاصی در آب حل شده و مایع شفاف ، کمی چسبناک تشکیل شود.
